The Bushy Park Site is located in an industrial area in Berkeley County about 5 miles east of the town of Goose Creek. The site is bordered on the east by the Cooper River and on the west by the Back River. The Back River is fresh water and is a drinking water supply for the area. The Back River serves as the plant water supply for the site. The Cooper River is a tidal river and is brackish. The Wastewater Treatment Plant outfall discharges to the Cooper River. The site is located in an area somewhat remote from dense populations. The immediate neighbors are either other industries or military installations.

The site has 1649 acres---- 1037 acres of marshland that cannot be developed, 188 acres of developed upland and 424 acres for future development. There is no rail onto the site, but rail is available on the north side of the site and plans are in place to bring rail onto the site in the near future. There is no barge dock, but the Cooper River will handle barges.
