The newest coal-fired plant in SCE&G's system generates 430 megawatts of electricity by burning pulverized coal in a single unit. The site was designed to accommodate two additional units in the future if needed. At full load, Cope Station can produce enough power in one hour to supply the average electric needs of 430 residential customers for one month.
