Ineos Nova based in Joliet, Illinois, was formed in 2007 as a joint venture and is 50% owned by Nova Chemicals and 50% by European based Ineos Styrenics. It is a World leader in styrene and stryrenic products including, polystyrene and expandable polystyrene.

The Sarnia facility was originally constructed by Polysar in 1977 and was sold to Nova Chemicals in 1988. It employs 75 people and produces 950 million pounds of styrene monomer annually from ethylene and benzine feedstock supplied by Nova's Corruna plant.
The Sarnia site supplies styrene to NOVA Chemicals' Montréal, Québec, and Springfield, Massachusetts, polystyrene operations as well as other commercial operations in North America and Europe.
