The Owens Corning Granville Site opened in 1961 on the former site of a farm owned by H.C. Penny, brother of J.C. Penny. Developments at the Granville site include the Alaskan Oil Pipeline insulation, and the composite roof of the Haj Terminal in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Today the site includes state of the art fire and acoustic laboratories, as well as facilities for environmental testing, manufacturing process prototyping and product development.
