Tarak Ridge (Mariveles)

The old name for it was Tarac. During spanish times, some letter Ks were replaced with Cs. Tarak means to stab, like "itarak mo sa dibdib niya ang punyal". As viewed from Mariveles town proper, the Tarak peak seems to have stabbed the sky, hence its name. Our ancestors probably said "naka-tarak sa langit".
