Chester County is administered by a County Supervisor form of government. The County Supervisor is responsible for carrying out the policies and ordinances of the County Council, for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the county, and for appointing all non-elected county department heads. The County Supervisor is elected by the citizens of the county. The County Supervisor is assisted by the Clerk to Council. Annual functions of the office include preparation of a proposed budget and associated projects, review of departmental performances, oversight of capital projects, and participation in economic recruitment activities.
