  • Hello editor, I'm from Canada and I'm wondering if the Sr. Leena D'Souza mentioned on this site is the same Sr. Leena D'Souza who used to be the beloved principal of Holy Angels Anglo-Indian HSS, the convent at Pondy Bazar in T.Nagar before being asked to come to Rosary Matriculation to take over as principal sometime in the '80s. I would like to keep in touch, if you do know this is true and have a picture of her please, be kind to email to me her picture, whereabouts and contact info. As I used to be a refugee foreign student of hers for many, many years and was under her care since I was a very little girl of about 3 yrs.old who came from Vietnam. Many Thanks& regards, Thuy Morgulis (my email address is thuy_d007@hotmail.com)

  • hi, i study in this school
  • I went to this school from 1969 (4th grade) until 1976 (11th grade). After I graduated from Rosary I went to Stella Maris College (Pre-Univ. 1976-1977 and B.A. from 1977-1980). I greatly enjoyed the school and college and have many fond memories of my time at both of them! I remember going over to St. Bede's school for special movie showings - I guess they had a bigger auditorium than Rosary. I remember the chapel near Raphael's school which was behind Rosary. Whatever happened to that school? They wore pink and white uniforms and yes, Rosary was blue and white.

  • I as a pupil of R.M.S.as we used to call it then. The years of my life was in the school library. The Principal Sr.Tresa Xavier got it organised in the most wonderful way,Eveyday Science Magazines,Nature Club and Science Fairs to promote our reading and finding ouit.A good science teacher to encourage us.Geography and Earth Sciences to make us prepare treks and exhibitions.Later when I got a leave vacancy Position to teach in my old schoolI accepted the offer as it was to help in the K.G.Section.The Principal Sr.John Houghton encouraged me to train as aTeacher saying I had an aptitude for it.I refused, saying Ilike children but not Teaching/say.She sentmetoolder classes to teach them extracurricular activities.Still I was not happy, though Ihad a Talent for Music and Art and Craft. She persisted and sent me to train in the Montessori Method of Education. I found within myself a NEW Person,A Montessorian as we like to call ourselves and little did I dream that MY Will be changed so much working with Children.Iwish to give my HEARTFELT Gratitude to this school and Sisters.Principals,Teachers and the true atmosphere of Learning they gave us despite all the shortcomings of Exams,Tests etc.I presently training Montessori Teachers, and the FOUNDATION laid by my school curriculum is my greatest strength and Blessing.May God Bless them All Jacintha Vincent
