Known as the Pancho Villa statue. Pancho Villa (birth name: Doroteo Arango) was a Revolutionary fighter during Mexican civil war of 1910. He commanded the "Division del Norte" (Northen Division) troops. Hence the name of the monument. He was also sort of a modern day Robin Hood, stealing from the rich to give to the poor. He was ambushed and killed while driving in is car. Even though the war had ended, many believe he was killed for political reasons. He is regarded as one of Mexico's greatest heroes.
