  • THE BELLS, THE BELLS Inn The Ring O'Bells has had a chequered history since it was built in the 1600's. Todays Ring O'Bells is a cosy two bar establishment, with real fires in the cooler months, and an oldie world feel to the decor. traditionaly real hand pulled ales have been sold here, and today it still is a main draw to the pub, with selected ales on offer and some seasonal guest ales at different times of the year. This pub is also ruputably the only pub in England to be built on church grounds, and still has the original snug room where bodies used be laid out for funerals and was also used by the bells ringers from the church in the past. If you are visiting kendal, its worth looking in, or even stay in one of the letting rooms (booking advised before hand) 01539 720326
