  • Stationed here May 06 through September 06. Very humid and hot but better than AJ or Ali Al Salem. Very little brass except when they became jealous of the mwr facilities. Green Bean coffee instead of Starbucks but cheaper. Smaller population made for better familiarity with other troops.
  • Stationed there 2005-2006. HOT Really did not think it was humid at all. Not like the south of the USA. Other then that i agree with the other post. As far as the Camp it depends on whoe running it. Army was not so hot. Then the Air force came in. Belive it or not it got worse.
  • I work on Camp Patriot and I've worked at AJ. I prefer Patriot! It's got that 'small town' feel. Sure, the amenities aren't as great (MWR, PX/BX) but the lack of Brass is wonderful! It's also cooler (okay, maybe 10 degrees but that counts when it's 120+) and yes, more humid since we're on the water. I like it and I can't think of any job I would leave it for...well, except one.
  • Stationed here now for the next six months. It is pretty hot, but you get used to it and most of the time it's not humid. Lots of dust everywhere and nothing but gravel and sand to walk on. Not much to do but at least there is a decent MWR, though free WiFi would be great.
