Christ Church Cathedral on Ross Road, in Stanley, Falkland Islands, is the southernmost cathedral in the world. Consecrated in 1892 to a typically late Victorian English design, but like the neighbouring Jubilee Villas was roofed in corrugated iron. Christ Church replaced the Holy Trinity Church, which stood on the same site but was destroyed through heavy rain and a peat slide. The diocese is part of the Anglican Communion. The Rector of the Cathedral, currently the Reverend Paul Sweeting, reports directly to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

  • Memorial plaques on the cathedral walls bring into memory a facinating account of the people that had lived here. The visit of the Beagle and Charles Darwin is shown at the museum. They also have artifacts from WW2 and the the Falkland conflict.
