Location: The boundaries are 10th Street on the north, Washington Street on the south, Linwood Avenue on the east, and Sherman Drive on the west.

History: The neighborhood began development in the early 1900's. In recent years there has been a resurgence of renovation and growth.

Style of homes: There are many cottage-style homes built in the 1920's. There are larger homes on the south side of the neighborhood.

Amenities: A variety of shopping and restaurants are close-by. The neighborhood organization was formed in 1983 and has become quite active in recent years. The organization works with public and private agencies to improve the area.

Commute to Downtown: Approximately 10 minutes.
Schools: Indianapolis Public Schools.
Neighborhood Association: Grace Tuxedo Park Neighborhood Organization.

  • "Grace Tuxedo Park" is one of those areas that's really not a neighborhood in itself. The apparently arbitrarily defined geographic boundaries really contain parts of the edges of a number of other neighborhoods.
  • The same goes for probably most of these listed "neighborhoods". "Emerson Heights" is another one; you could ask the people who live there and most of them have probably never even heard of such a place.
