Also called Ponnezhinathar temple.The jain temple, built in the chola architectural style, has been referred to as 'Ponnezhilnathar koil' in the chola inscriptions. It has a stone basement basement and a brick superstructure. Many jain stucco figures are found on the vimana. According to an inscription of sambuvaraya, the temple used to be called 'viravira jinalayam' during the 13th centuary A.D. Now the temple is under the control of the Archeology society of India. Pujas are offered to the deity once in a day (morning only). Temple will be open from morning 9am to 12pm. Mostly it is closed in the afternoon. The temple is surrounded by mango tree plantation. It is 4 km from Arani in the Arani-Arcot road.
