"Studen Kladenets" Reservoir

The reservoir is a part of the Arda Energy Cascade. This is the first reservoir built on the river, put into operation in 1957.
"Studen Kladenets" Reservoir (язовир „Студен кладенец“) is the second largest reservoir in Bulgaria, after Iskar Reservoir. It is situated on the Arda River, 30 km south-east of the town of Kardzhali. There are another two reservoirs of the Arda - Kardzhali Reservoir to the west (upstream) and Ivaylovgrad Reservoir to the east (downstream).
