Koh Tang is an island in the Gulf of Thailand that is part of Cambodia's Preah Sihanouk Province. Occupied only by Cambodian military personnel, the island was the site of what is called the "last combat action of the Vietnam War" when in May 1975 elements of the US Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force attempted a combat rescue mission of the Khmer Rouge-held crew of the SS Mayagüez believed to be on the island.
