The Park was purchased by the CVRD in 1989 and approval was obtained from the Agricultural Land Commission to use it for community park purposes. Initial work was completed in 1993, which included picnic areas and a trail loop. A more extensive trail network was completed in 1995 along with a major park clean up. An adventure play structure, swing set, and other playground equipment was installed in 1997.
