It is supposed that Rokantiškės castle was one of the oldest castle in Lithuania. According to chronicals and stories the castle was built by duke Alšis in the 13th century. In 16th century castle belonged to Goštautas family, later it came to king Sigismund II Augustus (Žygimantas Augustas). Since 17th century Rokantiškės castle was property of Pac family. The Deputy Chancellor of Lithuania Stefan Pac was visited here by the King of Poland and Grand duke of Lithuania Władysław IV Vasa on July 15, 1636.
The castle was burnt down by troops of Moscow army (cossacks) on August 7, 1655 during the Russo-Polish War and fell in ruins. Currenttly the remains of Rokantiškės castle are being renewed.
