This little hillock was used for filming the Rohan capital of Edoras in the Lord of the Rings triology.

The cast and crew spent months living and working at the site, and after filming was complete, all traces were removed.

  • Shame they didn't keep some things here, would've made a great memorial or attraction...then again, why spoil beauty and the environment. Good job Peter!
  • What amazing looking place. When I first saw the movie I figured most the background for these scenes were matte paintings or digitally created. Later when the DVDs came out I was amazed to find out it was real. Also quite amazing they built a huge set there and removed it leaving no trace. Hopefully I'll get to see it in person one day.
