Milford Sound / Piopiotahi

New Zealand / Southland / Te Anau /
tourism, bay, fjord, interesting place, invisible

An incomparably beautiful fjord! It is surrounded by steep mountainsides and waterfalls. There are several boat tour operators whose boats travel all the way to the mouth of the sound on the Tasman Sea. Some visit an underwater observatory as well. See Sea Lions and Dolphins, too. On a good day a short helicopter tour to the mountain tops is magical.

  • Milford Sound is spectacular where you will see the wonders of Mitre Peak, glacier scarred rock walls that rise 1200 meters (3937 feet) vertically from the sea and waterfalls that tumble from hanging valleys and crash into the sound far below. This place is natures wonder! probably after Himalaya's Milford is most remotest wildest part of the habitats compared in this world.
  • Milford Sound is arguably the most scenic destination in New Zealand. Located in 3 million acres of the Fiordland National Park, Milford Sound is a "must-see" for any traveller - magnificent untouched native forest and bush, pristine waterways and lakes, glaciers and high peaks. I love this remotest most rare paradise on earth, where one whould see the treassure in living eye!
