Tamagawa Nanaimo is the non-profit satellite facility of Tamagawa Gakuen, a highly esteemed and private K-12 Academy and University located in Tokyo.
The president of Tamagawa University in 1974, Dr. Tetsuro Obara, purchased the 84 acre lakeshore farm with the intent of providing students of the Faculty of Agriculture with a field-work facility, while at the same time inviting other Tamagawa students to experience the different cultures and the English-speaking world from this idyllic corner of North America.
