There is hydro, phone and cable service on the island but a private boat is needed to access this most beautiful retreat. There are also no paved roads or retail outlets.
The island is named for William Fitzwilliam Mudge, an officer aboard HMS Plumper under Captain George Henry Richards, who were in the area in 1859 to survey the land.
