RICHDALE, the village in section 33 of Pine Lake Township, was platted in September 1899 as a farmers' trading village and was called Richland but was changed to the present name because that name was already used in the state. The village had a Northern Pacific Railroad station, a general store, a cream station, and a potato warehouse; its post office operated 1900-1916.
