LINCOLN, a village in section 30, Scandia Valley Township, platted in September 1893 by Elizabeth Bauman, having numerous summer homes beside Fish Trap Lake, was named for the martyr president of the United States in the Civil War. The townsite had a lumber mill, a railroad station, several stores, and a post office, 1890-1954; by the 1960s it had developed as a resort area. The north extension was platted in 1899 as the McKinley Addition (for the president) by William B. and Sarah Hash, who owned Edgemoor on Hash Hill, an early store and resort. Lincoln also extends into section 25 of Fawn Lake Township in Todd County.
