Sky Tower (Buena Park, California)

USA / California / Buena Park / Buena Park, California

Currently closed for maintenance and slated for demolition, the Sky Tower supported two attractions, Sky Cabin and the Sky Jump.
Built in 1976 by Intamin AG.

The Sky Cabin is a circular observation cabin that slowly rises 18 stories into the sky, offering riders a panoramic view of the immediate surrounding area.

Sky Jump simulated a parachute free-fall to terra-firma from over 15 stories in the air. This parachute jump freefall ride was the highest ride in the park until its more modern successor, Supreme Scream, was built 25 years later. It was a reimagining of a similar ride at Coney Island in New York. Sky Jump closed for good in 1999. The ride's companion, Sky Cabin, still stands.

The Sky Cabin used to be Orange County’s tallest structure at 225 feet.
In 2008, firefighters rescued 24 people who were trapped inside Sky Cabin.
