synagogue, memorial plaque, historical building
'Gheorgheni Synagogue' was built in 1927-1928 (currently not in use). 900 Jews from Gheorgheni (Hungary) and the surrounding area were deported in 1944 and died in Auschwitz concentration camp. Memorial plaques with the names of those killed were placed on the wall of the synagogue by members of the community who survived the Holocaust.
