Active airstrip formerly serving the USCG LORAN site, which was decommissioned in 2010.

This is also the site of the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP)-listed "Attu Battlefield and U.S. Army and Navy Airfields on Attu". The Japanese invasion of Attu Island in 1942 and the U.S.'s recapture of the island in 1943 represent the only battle of World War II fought on American soil, however remote it was.
