Håkons Hall is an indoor arena at Stampesletta in Lillehammer. It was constructed from 1991 to 1993 at a cost of NOK 238,000,000. The hall served as one of the venues for the ice hockey tournament of the 1994 Winter Olympics and also hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1994 Winter Paralympics. The 23,000 sq m (250,000 sq ft) arena has an all-seater capacity of 11,500 in flexible and telescopic stands. Other events hosted in the hall include the World Women's Handball Championship in 1993 and 1999, the 1999 IIHF World Championship, the 2004 Junior Eurovision song Contest, the 2008 European Men's Handball Championship, and the 2010 European Women's Handball Championship.
