Sterba curtains are modest-gain single-band curtain array antennas. They are named after EJ Sterba, who developed a simple shortwave curtain array for Bell Labs in the 1930's. The "curtain" is composed of rows and columns of dipole antennas. VOA Delano's Sterba curtain, like the one located at VOA Dixon, is rated at 500 kilowatts.
