Named after famous freedom fighter Prana Nath Pattanaik, this college had reputation of producing good students pioneered in the field of science, engineering, medicine, arts, politics and commerce. This is a prestigious college for commerce, geology and computer science. The college is having a distinct place in state's education diaspora.

The college is having contribution towards social activities by senior division NCC boys/girls, NSS, Red cross. Students from this college contribute to maintain law and order situation in the area whenever help required by local administration. Apart from studying students spent their energy towards games, tree plantation, arranging medical camps for needy people.

There should be something interesting(adventurous) events in a students life when they are in college. So catch the students in action in college election, protest by blocking NH-5(of course these days it is bit difficult) and in the much hyped Kunja Bana.

Spreaded over vast land and entirely RED(color code for Khurda) in colour, the college is having a great complex of class rooms, well maintained laboratories, hostels, playgrounds, canteens, NCC rooms, separate computer section, administrative section and beautiful gardens. The statues of the great people like Buxi jagabandhu, Jayi RajaGuru and the founder of college Mr. Prananath Pattanaik along with great piece of poem embeded in each corner of the historical building, shows student a light for his/her future life. From the college the view of Barunei, NH-5 and vast land with early summer fierce wind that blows from hill side is always a memorable moments in peoples life who related to this institution.

Recently the college got autonomous status along with some major educational institution of the state. The college is growing very fast as it is updating itself with the new technology and ideas coming in . The teachers and students all-together should put a sincere effort to make this institute numero uno in the state and in the country.

  • The college has rich History and Geographically situated at a place which has history synonym with Orissa. This college can be deleoped into a mini university if people wanted to be. It has the capability to run streams of medicine and engineering studies along with the standard under graduate courses it offers now. The new subjects should be based on the self financing fee structure where in the college spent no mony to offer the courses. To name few, B.Tech, MBBS, BDS, MBA and MCA are some of the courses which can be of immidiate use.

  • after our beloved college became autonomous the whole adminstrative system became corroupted .p.n is known for it's good result in commerce but the truth is something else there are good teachers but 1 or 2 of them are willing to teach but others are there only for earning their salary.so the dream of late prananath is vanishing.

I have spend 5years college life in this college.It is a memorable period for me.One Thought come to my mind from my experienced that only the around environment of this college makes bad impression for the college.
