Frederick Loeser & Co. Department Store Building (Garden City, New York)

Built in 1937 as a branch of the Frederick Loeser & Co. department store. The building is two stories, 40,000sft in size. Designed by the firm of Slee & Bryson which designed numerous other department stores as well as homes. An addition was built in 1945. It reopened as Abraham & Straus shortly thereafter.

Following the bankruptcy of A&S, the site was converted into a mixed-use office building retaining the original exterior design but gutted interior with some changes designed by Bentel & Bentel. It is currently occupied by Morgan Stanley and a branch of TD Bank among other varied tenants.
