This forest, locally referred to as the Woodlot, is a popular mountain biking, motocross, and 4x4 area for Maple Ridge residents.
There has been some controversy as to whether people should continue taking advantage of the Woodlot area, due to the unstable nature of the soil in the area. It gets eaten up by bike tires when riders make trails and ride quickly down the mountainside.
