This 8-story office building dates to the late 19th century but was given a "modern" facelift in the 1950s. It comprises two of the four sections of the building that originally housed the Verner-Mackintosh Company and later the Pittsburgh Dry Goods Company. The third section (to the immediate east) burned down long ago and is now a private parking lot; the fourth section, the only one that somewhat retains the original building's appearance, has been turned into condos.
