Black Eagle Dam is a hydroelectric gravity weir dam located on the Missouri River in the city of Great Falls, Montana. The first of five hydroelectric dams in the region along the Missouri river, Black Eagle Dam was originally completed in 1891 to provide electricity to the region. It was expanded to its current size in 1928. Access to electricity produced by the dam initiated the construction of a copper smelter just north of the dam. Built atop Black Eagle falls.
