It also have division of bacteriology,pathology,parasitology and temperate animal husbandry division.The institute is world famous in research and development of viral vaccines for past atleast 100 years.

  • Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), the first research laboratory of the country in veterinary and animal sciences, has its headquarters at Izatnagar near Bareilly. An institute of national importance, IVRI has campuses at Mukteshwar and Bangalore. There are regional stations at Palampur, Srinagar, Kolkata and Bhopal. Courses are offered leading to MVSc, PhD, and national diploma programs. Presently, there are 21 divisions and six sections engaged in research in the field of animal health, production and technology. The institute is situated about 4 km from Bareilly.
