The smokestack still stands strong where America's hemp production ground to a halt in the mid 1900s, until then, this was the site of the Fairwater Hemp Company, one of America's leading hemp processors until it closed in 1931. This is also the site of one of the world's first hemp-powered electric generation utilities, when the Fairwater Hemp Company would burn the excess hemp hurds to power a steam generator.
