This six-story structure was built in the 1890s on property owned by John Dalzell, possibly the same John Dalzell who served 26 years in the US House of Representatives. Along with similarly styled extensions at 929 (since burned) and 931 Penn Avenue, it housed the W.H. Keech Co. furniture business. The Dalzell Building was purchased by Carlton Advertising in 1966 and from then on called Carlton Center.
