Sugar Lake Dam is a 150 m long and 13 m high concrete buttress dam that provides storage and regulation for the BC Hydro Shuswap Falls generating station located 29 km downstream. The dam was originally constructed in 1929 as a 5.2 m high overflow dam. In 1942, the dam was raised to 13 m.
