La Pieve Collegiate of Mercatello sul Metauro (PU), dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles, overlooking Piazza Garibaldi; of Roman origin, was rebuilt in 1363, retaining the previous structure, albeit with the addition of Gothic elements; the Romanesque structure underwent, however, a radical transformation, and ultimately between the end of the seventeenth century and 1730.
