The abbey is located in Lamoli , a hamlet in the municipality of Borgo Pace (PU) .
The first news of the abbey dates back to 1218 when it was still flourishing and well defended by a fortress in the north called " Castellaccio " and another defensive core in the Castrum Bovie (or Badie ) , on the steep hill overlooking Borgo Pace .
Because of its importance - due to its proximity to Mouth Trabaria , which connects the upper valley of the Tiber with that of Metaurus and the Adriatic - the abbey came in recent years to play an independent role , even temporarily subjecting Abbey Scalocchio , located in the Diocese of Città di Castello.
Already in 1422 , however, it was given in Commandery , and in 1848 his property passed to the Chapter of the Cathedral of Sant'Angelo in Vado , becoming the parish.
Today the entire abbey can be seen only the largest Romanesque church , founded probably before the year one thousand .
The building has a gabled facade tripartite , with a portal surmounted by a small central rosette . Facing the back wall of the right aisle is the bell tower of the same width of the nave.
