store / shop, interesting place, apartment building
The Olympia Building was once home to many shops, and the Olympia Theater, which offered vaudeville, Polish opera, and later motion pictures. This neighborhood theater was closed in the 1980's after the owners began to show pornographic films to compensate for declining ticket sales, which instigated protests from Citizens to Bring Back Broadway. Today, the building is used for apartment space, and a few businesses including AT Bails Inc., a medical general practice, and the Olympia Medical Center. This building appeared as the "Luce Theater" in the film "Welcome to Collinwood".
