The seven story apartment building designed by Samuel Hannafored was constructed in 1881 and was one of the first luxury apartment buildings in Cincinnati. Each of the five room apartments featured private baths and a kitchen. The building included marble floors and one of the first elevators in Cincinnati. William Howard Taft was a tenant until he married in 1886.

The Renaissance Revival styled building was renovated in 1995 and once again is being used as apartments. There are two interior courtyards to provide light and air as well as a rooftop deck. The street level retail units are occupied by Carrington`s Hair Salon and Hype Hair Salon. The building is registered on the National Register of Historic Places.
