The Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) is Canada's largest iron ore producer and a leading global supplier of iron ore pellets and concentrates. Owned by Rio Tinto (58.7%), Mitsubishi Corporation (26.2%), and the Labrador Iron Ore Royalty Income Fund (15.1%), IOC operates within the Rio Tinto Iron Ore group and maintains its head office in Montreal, Quebec.

IOC's Sept Iles shipping terminal exports iron ore to steel mills around the world. Iron ore is mined and processed at the company's Labrador City facility, then is shipped by IOC's own railway (the Quebec North Shore and Labrador - QNSL) in unit trains that can carry up to 24,000 tonnes of ore in 265 cars stretching some four kilometers in length.

Starting in late 2010, the terminal will also begin handling about 3 million tonnes of iron ore per year mined by Labrador Iron Mines at Schefferville.
