The hills are the part of the famous Rajaji National park which is espacially known for the Asiatic Elephants, rugged and waterless slopes of the Chandi Hills, are an offshoot of the Shiwalik Range. There is a very famous temple of CHANDI DEVI (Kali the seventh form of Goddess Durga)over one of the top of the Shivalik chain. After the name of the famous Goddess CHANDI DEVI this range is known as Chandi range.
