Kasteel Ter Meeren started as 12th-century donjon and grew to become a very large agricultural domain with fortified manor house. In 1860 the property was rebuild to its current Flemish-Renaissance style. For many years, Domain Ter Meeren was neglected, ransacked and decayed into ruin. In July 2007 new private owners began the long and tedious restoration of this heritage castle and its 10 ha romantic parkland.
