Designed in 1920 by architect Irvin Stanley F. Walker, this was a department store (Reycraft’s Store, owned by Joseph Reycraft, which specialized in various assorted "Dry Goods, Men’s & Ladies") until 1938 and became Pero's House Tavern in 1939. Pero's would close in 1982 or 1983, and would go through numerous name-changes (including The Happy Tap, then The Tap in 2009, becoming Legends in 2012, and finally Playhouse in 2018).
