It's my alma mater. The locale is so serene you can't pass without staying there for some time. So captivating, you'll feel like spending whole life in this remote hamlet. People are too friendly you'll long not to go away. It'a location populated mostly by the lower middle class. Except for the people who are government employees and those employed in the Arabian Gulf all are economically backward. Still the people are polishhed in their manners and demeanour. The nearest town is Idimuzhikkal. (akbarali)
SVAUP School is a government aided upper primary school. Thykkoottathil Apputty who belongs to elite family of the location was the manager of this school. His vision was so great that he started a school for the economically and educationally backward sections of the society a few decades back and the school still reamains as a beacon of light to the poor lot of the area. He was a textile trader basically. After his death Sri Subramanyan his elder son was the manager for some time. Sri Subramanyan was a hill produce merchant. His younger son Sri T. Balakrishnan took charge as the manager in then due course. Sri Balakrishnan was a High School Teacher at a famous high school, now a vocationa higher secondary school, of Chaliyam.
