The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court on Wednesday the 12th August 2015 asked NIT why Transport Plaza on Kamptee Road was not functional till date and directed it to furnish all details regarding its pending case in district court within two weeksNIT began acquiring land in 1976 and a small portion of the land still remains to be acquired. The operator was appointed in 2006 and was supposed to complete the project by 2009. However, land disputes scuttled the project for years. Finally in 2015, NIT decided to start the project However, soon a dispute arose between the civic agency and its operator over payment of premium. The operator was willing to pay it from 2015. Even after notices issued by NIT, the operator did not pay up. It was only after the high court's directive that the plaza was made functional.
