A ghost town adjacent to the site of Camp Hale. Pando was a stop on the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad (D&RGW). During the construction of Camp Hale early in WW-II Pando served as the residential community for the construction workers. During Camp Hale's period of use, Pando served as the railroad station (depot) for troops arriving at and departing the camp. It also served as the railroad switching point for freight cars being positioned in the warehouse area of Camp Hale. It was sometimes referred to as "Pando Junction".
