Romanesque (architecture), NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, commercial building, trolleybus garage
Also known as the Navy Yard Car Barn. Built in 1891, the "Blue Castle", as it is commonly referred to, originally housed trolley cars and later electric street cars. Most recently it was the home to charter schools. Developers have purchased the building and plan to make it a retail anchor to attract people south of the freeway and allow the continuation of Barracks Row to the north.
