Kroondal Platinum Mine

This is the western portion of the Kroondal Platinum Mine which is a shallow mechanised operation which exploits the UG2 reef using a bord and pillar method. This part of the lease has the Kwezi shaft in which the deepest level is around 370m, and the K6 shaft in which the deepest level is around 340m.

Kroondal is operated in terms of a 50:50 pool share agreement between Sibanye-Stillwater and Anglo American Platinum. Kroondal mines the reserves but the the mining rights are registered to Anglo who receieves 50% share of production and financial outcomes as well are royalty from the Kroondal Extension.
